NOTE: On-line bidding and auctions require advanced registration and advanced placement of deposits.
The Clerk’s office of Bay County runs a Foreclosure report weekly that will be posted each Friday. If you are interested in bidding on a foreclosed property, it is recommended that you come into the Civil Division of the Bay County Courthouse to physically review the files we have on each foreclosure. You can also obtain information regarding future foreclosure sales by researching the legal ad section of the Panama City Newsherald. The foreclosures are published once a week for two consecutive weeks before the sale takes place.
It is not possible to register to bid by mail. If you wish to bid on a foreclosure you must appear in person at the sale. Our bidding process is the highest bidder wins the bid.
Immediately after the final bid is made and accepted, the successful bidder must post with the Clerk a deposit equal to 5% of the final bid in cash or cashier’s check.
The successful bidder must pay the balance of the bid amount due by 4:00 pm the same day. In addition, fees for documentary stamp taxes and registry deposit fees must be paid at the time the balance of the bid amount is paid. This amount is based upon the bid amount.
Failure to pay the balance due and authorized costs by 4:00 pm the same day will result in the re-advertisement of the sale, the cost of which will be paid from the deposit. Any remaining funds will be applied towards the judgment.
All payments must be by cash or cashier’s check drawn on a United States bank and must be made payable to the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
